Repairing Frizzy, Curly, Dry Damaged Hair

Author: Hairdo4U November 13, 2008

Repairing Our Hair Outside the Flat Iron BoxThere are so many us who continually struggle with dry damaged hair, frizzy hair, curly hair that just won’t cooperate, and the list goes on and on.  There are scads of products out there that say they are just right for the problem, however, not all of the products do what they say they will, or what we really want them to do.  Some of us buy flat irons to straighten our hair with the hopes that after straightening our hair will not look frizzy and shine.   Well…….in addition to straightening our hair, could we possibly try some home remedies that just might work?  There are in fact some home remedies that people have tried and this article will introduce some of them for you.

Conditioners are something that everyone uses to control frizzy hair.  Usually we put the conditioner on our hair while in the shower and only leave it on long enough to wash our bodies, and then we rinse it out.  How about the next time you aren’t in a big hurry to get ready for work or go out, leave the conditioner in your hair and wrap your hair in a towel.  Leave the towel on for an extra 15-20 minutes before finally rinsing out the conditioner.  This extra conditioning time just might provide the extra conditioning you need.  While it may not completely solve the problem, it certainly won’t hurt to give your hair that extra conditioning at least once a week.

How To Use Hot Rollers

Author: Hairdo4U November 12, 2008
Lady Using Hot Rollers

For those of you who need some help in the use of hot rollers, the following instructions can be useful in completing this task:

1)  Plug in your set of hot rollers and wait until the indicator shows that they are ready to use.

2)  While you are waiting for the rollers to heat up, dry your clean hair into a straight style.

3)  Apply whatever type of styling mousse, cream, or oil starting at your roots and working it in to the ends.

4)  Now you will want to separate your hair into three sections.  Clip up two of the sections on top of your head.

5)  Taking the unclipped section of hair, comb out a 2-inch section to make sure there are no knots or tangles.  You can then spray this section of hair with a light hairspray.

6)  Choose the size of hot roller that you want to use for the first section of hair along with the clamp or pin.

7)  Take the roller and place it about 1 1/2″ above the end of the section of hair and wrap the bottom of the strand around the roller.

8)  Make sure that you are rolling upward toward the scalp so that the entire section of hair is wrapped around the roller.

9)  Use the clamp or pin to secure the roller in place.  Repeat this process until you have completely rolled your entire head in curlers.

Traveling Light

Traveling Light

I have to admit it–I am a chronic over packer. It seems like every trip I go on I pack too much, and it’s a problem. It’s such a hassle having to heft my heavy bags all around the airport, and even more of a problem when I have to go through the security check. Because I know this is a serious problem, I am always trying to find ways to pack lighter.I am really picky about styling my hair, even on short trips. I simply cannot go without a good hairdryer. But my regular hair dryer is huge and takes up a lot of the space in my suitcase. I decided to invest in a travel hairdryer so that I can fit more into my suitcase. My travel hairdryer works just as well as my home hairdryer and takes up so much less space.

A Great Solution

A Great Solution

After years of working as a professional typist I have developed carpal tunnel syndrome, and because of this I have a hard time holding heavy objects for long periods of time. For this reason I have invested in one of the new BaByliss hair dryers. These hair dryers are top of the line and offer 1900 watts of energy. The most important aspect of my new hair dryer is that it is lightweight and easy for me to hold for long periods of time. These dryers are excellent heat conductors and are resistant to chemical corrosion, so they last forever. I have long, thick hair and this is one of the only hair dryers that I have used that can tame my unruly locks.
